The current trend is about shine and sheen with subtleness.

This season I was highly inspired to do a festive collection, that shimmers in the real sense, but is not too loud in the face.

Shimmer, is an attempt at, my end to enable the extended family, relatives and friends to look their best and consciously not over shadowing the bride to be. Often the bride’s sister, or best friend, or the mother, or the buddy cousin girl gang, also want to dress, exquisitely.

And if not, these outfits make a great impact, in our festive season, whether you wearing them at a pooja, a FORMAL dinner, any festivities or an Indian cocktail!

However these make an excellent trousseau for the bride to be as well.

A wedding trousseau is the possessions, such as clothing and linens that a bride assembles for her marriage. Trousseaux today incorporate contemporary designs and fashions.

Throughout history, single young women all over the world have prepared for their change in marital status by accumulating a trousseau. A traditional trousseau included bridal accessories, jewelry, lingerie, toiletries and makeup, plus bed linens and bath towels for her new home. From Victorian times till today, the trousseau also has consisted of brand-new outfits to see a woman through her wedding, honeymoon, and newlywed days.

Often the garments in a trousseau were hand-sewn by a mother, aunt, grandmother, or the girl herself, if skilled with a needle. Wealthier families procured the skills of a professional seamstress to outfit the bride-to-be.

The collection also works as a great trousseau ensemble. The bride’s collection should have a mix of the modern, contemporary (think lace and appliqué) and our Indian traditional art work like gota, or zardozi.

The collection

About

I always try to combine ongoing trends, with our Indian consumer mindset and seasonal changes. Also formal outfits should always have a classic element attached with a modern twist. The collection is therefore exclusive, yet, if you ever felt the need to wear this outfit again, you won’t think twice, if you checked with the seasonal ongoing trend.

The colors

As natural, and as vibrant as it can get!

nude beige, nude pink, nude skin tones, all mixed with silver or gold dominate for the cocktail look and for the traditional attire, emerald green, maroon, pinks and purple.

The silhouette

The look is very classy, chic, just in mood with the modern dressing temperament.

Fitted/semi fitted upper torso in some and definition of one body part, is what I have concentrated on, so that every body type is flexible to wear the garments and feel beautiful.

To do just the opposite is also a form of imitation. - Lichtenberg
